Políticas para o Lixo Eletrônico
Fui entrevistado sobre lixo eletrônico para o Blog do Prêmio Sergio Motta. Pedacinho aqui:
O Brasil é um dos países que possuem uma das maiores indústrias de reciclagem do planeta. Como o Brasil poderia aproveitar sua experiência com a reciclagem de outros materiais na Reciclagem do lixo eletrônico? Como é possível tornar sustentável a reciclagem do lixo eletrônico no Brasil?
Aqui tem uma coisa importante: eu conversei com um especialista holandês há poucas semanas, e a opinião dele é que a reciclagem de lixo eletrônico não é sustentável de maneira autônoma. Ou seja, quando a reciclagem é feita de maneira responsável (com material de segurança, respeito às leis trabalhistas, não descartando resíduos no meio ambiente, etc.), ela não se paga. É uma questão de interesse público: existe a necessidade de encontrar outras maneiras de sustentar esse tipo de atividade. Em alguns países, existe uma taxa incluída no preço dos eletrônicos, destinada a bancar a operação da reciclagem. Ou seja: ela é sustentável de maneira indireta.
